Job Description The Director of Human Resources is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team focused on transforming the workforce of our YMCA.
We are looking for a team-player to lead efforts in recruiting, developing, and retaining the best cause-drive leaders while supporting department leaders and front-line staff in fulfilling the mission, vision, and overall strategies, direction, and programs for the organization.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred or earned within one year of start date At least five years broad-based, progressively responsible human resources experience Minimum of five years of senior leadership experience Experience working with recruitment and retention Experience working with multiple staff levels, including Board of Directors and front-line staff Experience working with diverse populations including significant experience in diversity and inclusion Advanced working knowledge of computer software, including MS Office Suite Essential Functions 1.
Serves as a business partner to the CEO and the leadership team, providing strategic leadership to attract, develop, and retain the best available talent.
2.
Direct the Human Resource team in developing and executing best practices to enable a high-performing team that contributes to the organization's strategic growth; prepares and manages associated budgets.
3.
Provide overall leadership and guidance to the Human Resource team in the areas of performance management, employee relations, career development, salary administration, retention, training, leadership development, human resources information systems, hiring and onboarding, succession planning, and must:
a.
Ensure effective recruitment and on boarding programs and processes are implemented that supports the retention and success of cause-driven leaders throughout the organization.
b.
Oversee benefit programs including workers compensation, plan communication, enrollment, and administration.
Assesses the competitiveness of human resources programs and practices against the relevant markets and makes recommendations for improvements and changes.
c.
Serve at the DEI Officer (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) for the organization and ensure an overall strategy is developed that supports membership development, program innovation, leadership development, collaborations, financial development, branding/visibility.
d.
Serve as the Safety Officer for the organization and ensure an overall strategy is developed for facility and employee safety, child protection, and emergency response management.
4.
Responsible for developing and administering the organization's personnel procedures and policies.
Maintains an effective program of compliance with laws and regulations related to human resources and manages relationships with compliance agencies and YMCA legal counsel.
5.
Participate in state alliance committee and other state-wide meetings that support people and overall organizational strategies including leadership development and government affairs.
May assume leadership roles in committees or events as appropriate.
6.
Oversees staff survey and assessment programs to gain insight on staff feedback, engagement and satisfaction; ensure information gained is analyzed, communicated and as appropriate, incorporated into strategies.
7.
Works directly with assigned committee(s) or councils to build relationships, develop policies, monitor their implementation, and meet the related needs of the board.
8.
Manage training partnership with YMCA of the USA; includes Regional Training Events.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
