ADA Transportation Driver & Enforcement Agent

Valparaiso, IN Valparaiso, IN Full-time Full-time 4 days ago 4 days ago 4 days ago The ADA Transportation Driver/Parking Enforcement Agent will support the Mission of Valparaiso University and the Parking and Transportation Department by safely transporting students and/or staff with accommodations on and around campus and at university special events.
This individual will have the ability to learn the Valparaiso University campus geography which includes building and parking lot locations as well as areas in the surrounding community.
Will exhibit and provide excellent customer service skills and assist transport customers (students and staff as needed.
Major
Responsibilities:
Enforce parking rules and regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of the university's students, staff, and guests Issue parking citations to those in violation Transport campus personnel requiring assistance due to accommodations Survey parking lots to help identify and suggest changes to resolve parking problems Daily vehicle maintenance inspection of transport van Required Knowledge and Skills:
High School Diploma required Must possess a valid U.
S.
state issued driver's license with a record check and background check required Demonstrate effective verbal and listening communication skills and time/stress management skills Will exhibit and provide excellent customer service skills and assist transport customers.
Have a working knowledge of current Indiana traffic laws Demonstrate the ability to safely drive a transit van in inclement weather and operate ADA equipment Possess a basic understanding/operation of a smartphone Full-Time/Limited- 30-40 hours per week 44 weeks per year Monday - Friday - Days/Evenings, Occasional Weekends Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds.
