Education:
High School Diploma or equivalency required Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in related field preferred Requires a valid Driver's License International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training, preferred.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Promotes and provides for the security and safety of patients, employees and visitors.
Protects the organizations buildings, assets and premises as assigned.
Understands the importance of patient safety and actively participates in safe practices.
Identifies and reports actual events and potentially hazardous situations as outlines in hospital procedures.
Performs Internal surveillance tours of all areas of the assigned campus.
Performs External surveillance tours either through vehicle or on foot of all external areas of the assigned campus.
Reports- Completed reports which are reviewed for the following components:
Complete, timeliness, clarity, accuracy and legibility.
DARs, Case and other reporting forms will be inclusive detailing activity, contacts, actions, and resolution Customer Service- Responds to requests for services in a courteous and timely manner.
Restraints and Seclusion- A Security Officer should be able to exhibit knowledge and cooperation with nursing, special documentation, verbalizes security concerns, applies restraints efficiently and communicates with patients in accordance with established policy & competencies.
Locking/Unlocking & Special Requests- Performs requests/tasks on a timely basis and properly documents requests.
